We have received the following mail from Sr.ED(MS & IT) . System from HO will remain down from 8PM on 10/05/2014 to 8PM , 11/05/2014. During this period ERP, HRMS , Despatch will not be available. All the local application softwares & Internet etc. will remain normal.

This is in continuation of our trailing email regarding the DR drill.
DR Drill:
Disaster Recovery (DR) Drill refers to an organization’s ability in terms of Business Continuity Planning to recover from a disaster in case of any unexpected event and resume the IT Infrastructure to continue business operations.
In order to provide uninterrupted IT support, this DR Drill is mandatory and it is part of IFFCO BCP (Business Continuity Planning). This test will be a step forward in improving the IT Infrastructure availability and minimizing disruption to the business.
Scope of the DR Drill:
Major applications planned to be tested during DR Drill are:
HRMS : This applications will be tested by HO (System) & Paradeep Unit
E-Vikas : This application will be tested by MKCO (Systems) & Lucknow State Office
Dispatch System : This application will be tested by Aonla Unit
ERP : ERP will be tested by HO (Systems) & Paradeep Unit
Lotus Domino Email : This will be tested by HO (Systems)
Major Activities Planned:

Backup
: Various types of Backups will be taken at Data Center (DC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) Site to ensure zero loss of information/Data in case of any failure.

Switchover
:
During switch over from Data Center (DC) to Disaster Recovery (DR) site following activities will be carried out
·
Validation of Infrastructure Readiness
·
Database Integrity check
·
Allow to perform limited transactions by the identified techno functional users.
·
Switchback
- During switch back from Disaster Recovery (DR) site to Data Center (DC) following activities will be carried out
·
Validation of Infrastructure Readiness
·
Database Integrity check
·
Allow techno functional users to validate the transactions carried out at DR site.
·
Email Switchover-Switchback
: Validate Email transaction at DR site and accessibility of email from the DR site from local LAN, WAN and internet

DR Drill and IFFCO Systems Shutdown
The Disaster Recovery Drill of IFFCO Databases and Applications has been planned for the first time in IFFCO from 8.00 PM on 10th May till 8.00 PM on 11th May between our main Data Centre in IFFCO Saket and our DR Site at CTRLS, Hyderabad. During this period, the following system are not going to be available to users:
1. Email to HO/MKCO and Marketing Field Users: for about 2 hrs. Time will be informed in our next detailed schedule mail. There will not be any disturbance to Plant users.
2. Evikas, HRMS & Material Dispatch Systems: From 11.00 PM on 10th May till 6.00 PM on 11th May.
3. ERP: From 8.00 PM on 10th till 8.00 PM on 11th May.
This is an advance intimation and details of DR Schedule will be made available in our next mail. In case there is any comment, the same may pl be intimated to us at the earliest as we have tied up number of agencies like IBM, IFFCO, Path Infotech, HCL Comnet and HCL Infotech for this exercise and we may have to inform them accordingly.
Precautions have been taken that in case of failure of any activity because of any reason, the Database will be rolled back to the point where the respective application has been deactivated. Also before planning this exercise, we have done the mock testing successfully.
