Filaria is a common disease in coastal districts. It is caused by the bite of a female Culex mousquito . If not treated properly , it leads to Elephantiasis. To eradicate the disease from the country,
Govt. has lunched a programme called 'NATIONAL FILARIAL ERADICATION PRAGRAMME'. We have to administer a drug (DEC) to the mass population as per the schedule given below.

Kindly avail the treatment available at Township Dispensary and Plant Dispensary positively.(10.03.2011--12.03.2011)

AGE LIMIT DOSE OF DEC TABLET

1 .Pregnant Ladies &
Children below 2 yrs. Not to be given

2. Children between 2yrs.to 4 yrs One tablet (100mg)

3.Children between 4yrs.to 14yrs. Two tablets(200mg)

4. 14 yrs and above Three tablets (300mg)

ONE TABLET OF ALBENDAZOLE IS A MUST ALONG WITH THE ABOVE TREATMENT (TO COMBAT WORM INFESTATION)
